PLEASE NOTE: Lewes is a super beautiful small town and the majority of the roads are equally small and narrow. From riding around I can clearly see the 1600 residents already have parking issues, so if it can be avoided, please do use the Car Parks or just come by train instead especially if you’re coming to Lewes in November for the world-famous fireworks Night.

Lewes Chamber of Commerce President, Clare Crouch, said “This year has been a horrible year for everyone, especially the small independent shops and businesses. We encourage Lewes residents and visitors from outside the town to come into Lewes and find refreshing ideas that they may not have seen in their own hometown shops.

“This gesture by LDC is very much appreciated, and we hope that it will give everyone planning their Christmas shopping yet another great reason to do it here in Lewes! We just ask that everyone follows social distancing rules and guidelines that the shops have in place.

“We also realise that some shoppers may not be comfortable or able to physically visit Lewes, which is why we encourage them to check out shops’ websites as well as get involved with the ‘Shop Independent at Christmas’ Campaign.”
