Brighton Theatre – NCP Car Park – 2023 Update
The central Brighton NCP Car park, otherwise known as Brighton Theatre car park maybe just be a 4 minutes walk from the Brighton Theatre on New Road, Brighton. But for visitors other than to Brighton Theatre, parking here may not be the best car parking option in the city.
We have investigated this for you and compiled a comparison chart below. We have compared the NCP Theatre car park to two other nearby parking facilities. These are the RCP car park on North Road and the Trafalgar Street car park off Black Man Street.

Trafalgar Street Car Park Vs NCP Brighton Theatre Car Park
So according to the above data, we can clearly see that the NCP is the closest to The Royal Pavilion Palace and the Theatre Royal. by a mere 0.3 of a mile. But if your visit is for shopping in the bohemian quarter of the North Laine, you would be just as close using the Trafalgar Street car park, or even more central to the buzzing Kensington Garden using the RCP car park.
I should mention here that the Trafalgar Street car park at the North end of the trendy North Laine is only an 8-minute walk to the NCP car park. There is only an 8-minute difference, this means If you are happy to walk for only an extra 8 minutes, you will make savings of:
- £4.50 for a 2-hour stay
- £5.50 for a 4-hour stay
- £9.50 for an 8-hour stay
- and £13.50 for a 24-hour stay.
Who wouldn’t walk for just 8 minutes to save a whopping £13.50? I know I would!
Regarding security, you can enter the NCP car park on foot without a ticket but need a ticket to exit through the barrier. Whereas at the Trafalgar Street car park, you need a ticket to re-enter to get back to your car and automated ticket-controlled gates allow you to exit while preventing pedestrians from access.
I personally would say that Trafalgar Street would be the best option here, with the RCP a slightly cheaper and only a 4-minute further distance coming in at second place with NCP 4 or 8-minute advantage not shining over its additions parking fees to the first two.

Russell Road, Brighton – NCP Car Park – 2023 Update
The NCP car park on Russell Road Brighton has over 500 parking spaces and 12 disabled bays and is located directly behind Brighton’s prestigious Grand Hotel where it is just a 30-second walk to the Brighton centre next door.
Perfect you may think, but let’s compare the prices to other nearby car parks and see if the NCP Russell Road car park still hails supreme after we do a comparison.

As you can see from the above data the Regency Square car park stands as a good cheaper alternative to using The NCP Russell Square car park. For, if you are happy to walk for just 4 minutes extra you will make a saving of:
- £5.50 for a 2-hour stay
- £4.00 for a 4-hour stay
- £6.00 for an 8-hour stay
- and £9.00 for a 24-hour stay.

I am having to pull back the reins on my excitement with these results, as Churchill Square Green Car Park (2) on Cannon Place, Brighton shows to be the best option for someone visiting for 2, 4, or 8 hours. With just, a 1-minute walk from the NCP, you can make the following savings:
- £6.00 for a 2-hour stay
- £9.00 for a 4-hour stay
- £7.00 for an 8-hour stay
